ABOUT

Following the success of the 2016 event, the second Hoi An International Food Festival will take place from 20-26th March 2017. For one week Hoi An will once again be transformed into a truly international  culinary destination. Twelve International Chefs will bring their countries respective cuisines and culture for visitors to explore. The event takes place at the An Hoi Sculpture Garden on Nguyen Phuc Chu every evening from 5pm.

The chefs will be recreating their traditional dishes, showcasing the finest locally sourced Vietnamese ingredients. The festival will give visitors the opportunity to try food from around the world while enjoying a festival atmosphere. We are fortunate to be able to welcome back some of the chefs from the 2016 event as well as new participants from around the world.

FESTIVAL PROGRAMME

With 12 International chefs representing 12 countries and 12 themed restaurants, The Hoi An International Food Festival will be the first of its kind food festival in Vietnam, celebrating global food and the finest locally sourced ingredients.

PRESS
EVENT

24 FEBRUARY 2017, 2-5pm

Prior to the Festival, there will be an invitation only Press/Media Event to be held at Vy’s Market Restaurant & Cooking School. Invited guests will include journalists, media, Government representatives, representatives of participating restaurants and sponsors. The aim of this event is to introduce the Festival, explaining the scope, programme and goals. Ms Vy, Chairperson of Hoi An Culinary Events, will give a welcoming speech and the visiting chefs will be introduced. A Q&A session will follow, before refreshments and photo opportunities.

DAY

1

MARCH 20 2017

On the first day, prior to the public event, the chefs and participating restaurants will be welcomed to the stage at An Hoi Sculpture Garden. They will then be invited to experience a ‘Taste the World Workshop’ cooking demonstration by Ms Vy. Intended as a culinary and cultural exchange, Ms Vy will introduce Vietnamese culture and food – its history, ethos and medicinal benefits. Thomas Gugler – the Chief of Chefs will then introduce the team of invited chefs to the Media. The chefs will then create their signature dishes and have the opportunity to discuss the dishes with members of the media.

MARCH 21 2017


19:00 to 22:00
On the second day, the Chairman’s cocktail will host a cocktail evening for the visiting chefs, sponsors, senior executives of the larger resorts in the region, and members of the press/media*.
The chefs will prepare their signature dishes for sampling.
Limited tickets will be made available to the general public for this Chairman’s cocktail event. Contact us for details.

Five days of events open to the public. Every evening, An Hoi Sculpture Garden will be home to 12 stalls, decorated and themed to the 12 countries of the participating chefs. The chefs will prepare traditional dishes from their respective countries.

MARCH 22 2017


17:00 to 22:00
The event opens to the public with an Opening Ceremony at An Hoi Sculpture Garden where guest chefs will be introduced to the culture of Hoi An. Participating restaurants will each occupy one stall and the respective guest chefs will create one hot dish. Ticket coupons will be available to purchase dishes at any of the stalls (60.000vnd each).

The final day will consist the Closing Ceremony, with an awards ceremony for chefs and participating restaurants presented by the Hoi An People’s Committee. This will be followed by the closing dance party at the sculpture garden, lights and music.
